Riding The Cardinal Greenway

By: Author Unknown

The Cardinal Greenway is part of the American Discovery
Trail, rail trail that is 70 miles long. It is under
construction, so not all of the trail is complete. Also, not
all is open to horses.

The 10 mile section that runs from downtown Muncie to the
Henry county line (10 miles) is complete.

The trail will eventually run from Richmond to Gaston.
Only 4 miles has a separate treadway for horses, starting at
Medford and ending at country road 650 south. It has a
connector trail of .7 miles that leads trails to the
equestrian trails open on the Prairie Creek Res., south of
Muncie.

This offers several small single file type trails on the
west side of the reservoir. The total miles are unknown.. It
offers a good afternoon of riding. There is no charge for
the Cardinal, but a daily fee to ride on the reservoir.

Horse trailer parking at the north end of the trail is
located at 500 5; parking at the south end of the trail is
located at 525E.
