The horsemen’s campground is located in the beautiful hills of Brown County. It is the largest state park in Indiana. There are 118 class A sites with electric hook-ups and a modern bathroom with showers.

Trails A-J are 49.4 miles and trails 1-16 are 20 miles,

There is lots of shade and people come from all over. Reservatins are a must.

It is shady and full almost every weekend, so you should call for reservations unless you are planning to stay during the week.

There are also 86 class C sites that are primitive. You will find 71 miles of hilly trails that are all in the woods. There are many streams to cross though there is more water in the spring than during the summer months.

Camping fees for electric sites seem to change every year. Check the reservation website. There is a daily gate fee to get into the park. A season pass is available.

They have NO stalls. There is a hitching post per site that you can tie several horses too (limit is 6 horses/per site!)

Diretions: You can find Brown County by taking the 65 freeway south out of Indianapolis. Get off at SR 46 west which is the Columbus exit. Continue west on 46 for 15 miles where you will turn south on SR 135 and drive 8 miles. The east entrance to Brown County will be on your right and is well marked with a large sign. That entrance goes directly into the horsemen’s campground.
